Loan Forgiveness for Public Service Employees
The
College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007
created the Loan Forgiveness for Public Service
Employees Program. This new program provides for the
cancellation of the remaining balance due on
eligible federal student loans under certain
repayment plans while employed in certain public
service fields.
College
Board Reports College Cost Still Going Up
The
College Board's most recent reports show increases in published prices for
two-year and four-year public institutions in
2007-08 were slightly larger than in 2006 but lower
than the average rates of growth over the past five
years.
